About
Martin Faith's Percherons
Our Farm
Established 2011
Martin Faith's Percherons all started with a dream, a little bit of hope, and a lot of Faith. It all started with our patriarch mare, Faith. Draft horses were always a love and when Sheilarae saw Faith at the Boone County Fair, that's when it all changed. One percheron soon turned into eight, along with the addition of goats, turkeys, chickens, and ducks. Faith became mama to our biggest gelding Jet, and we quickly realized our land needed to expand. In 2018 we purchased the 28 acres of bliss we now call home. With only a small barn on site and a concrete slab previously used as a feed lot, our vision would soon come to life. Curt hand built and crafted our over 3000+ sqft barn. Behind that went up our 70 x 136 indoor arena. Fences went up, more animals of all kinds were added and Martin Faith's Percherons became our business. Our mission of bringing the love of horses to everyone in many different ways became a reality. We love boarding for others and sharing our little slice of paradise. Riding lessons by Sheilarae on our gentle giants is so much fun for all ages and skill levels. Our percherons really know how to show off and they love doing so with our horse-drawn carriage. We aren't sure yet if weddings or birthday parties are their favorite. Since we have opened our farm up to photography, family photos just got that much better! We really have it all here on the farm!

Our Story
Curt & Sheilarae Martin
Curt and Sheilarae have years of experience with ponies, horses, and animals. Curt born and raised in Wisconsin grew up on his grandfathers’ dairy farm milking cows, doing chores, and bailing hay. Sheilarae a native to Missouri, fell in love with horses at a young age. Like most little girls she dreamed of owning her own pony, so when Sparkle, a Shetland Pony, showed up one day and all her dreams come true. Through the years the horses have only gotten bigger! Curt and Sheilarae took their full time careers and part time love for percheron draft horses and farm animals to a whole new level when they both retired from their careers in the workforce. Sheila working in retail management for over 33 years. Curt a proud and true Veteran of the United States Marines, retired from the state of Illinois. Horsin was always a family trait. Curt made sure his 4 girls had horses growing up and Sheila's son had a little pony just like mom! Now even the grandkids are in on the horse love with ponies of their own. They are living the dream at Martin Faith's Percherons. Where business is a total pleasure. We hope to bring our passion for horses and people into our life and take a wish upon a star kind of dream and turn it into your dream come true.
